Glassfibre & epoxy reparation

The upper plastic steering cover had some unoriginal black tape taped on the top when I got the scooter, and obviously, I just had to find out why...

Turns out there is a serious crack in the cover. Glueing is a option, but reinforcement is needed.

Biltema next for some glassfibre material & some epoxy for a quick fix. The panel is not easily available from any scootershop, so this is best alternative besides Ebay & fellow scooterists.

Top reinforced...

Inside reinforced...

Managed to fix a small crack in the front mudguard as well...

Woven glassfibre material...

Traditional glassfibre material...

They also had Kevlar material available, but the material cost 20 times the price of the above for the same quantity...

Final touch: Removed rust from the mirror arm, resprayed it.

Update day 2: Fibre arming hardened, time for filler.

...and some sanding. To be continued...
